Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) better known by her real title Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be associated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. The label debuted her first EP, Pho, in October 2016, and she was able getting noticed. Her first studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began posting her music to the internet in 2012 when she launched her debut mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography In 2013. The singer continued uploading her songs online throughout 2014 and released her own single Bound. In the year 2015, she performed in Omen's Elephant Eyes Album on Sweat it out on 21st July. In the following year, her music circulated around the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to work with him on some references for Rihanna. In December 2008, it was revealed that Rihanna had been signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat was a track she co-wrote with Cozz to record the collaboration album Revenge of the Dreamers II. In October 21st, 2016 her debut EP was released under the name Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened her own tour, the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018 she guest-starred in two of her songs with labelmates EarthGang in the video for Nothing but the Best. Also, she appeared on Bas in Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018. The music video later released in September. The second single she released was, Grampa on November 9. In November, 13, she released two additional singles, titled No One and Pdigree. She was featured with Cole in the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On November 16and later released the song as a solo single for her debut album. In February of 2019, a music clip was released for the song. The track has received nearly 3 million hits on YouTube within the debut week. In December 2018 she was a supporting act on The From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
